ONS Distinguished Awards

The ONS Distinguished Awards were developed to recognize individuals for their career achievements and for their outstanding contributions to cancer care.

ONS Excellence Awards

ONS Excellence Awards provide members with unique opportunities to be recognized for their contributions and achievements within their field of expertise.

ONS Pearl Moore "Making a Difference" Awards

This new category is designed to recognize individuals and teams that go the extra mile and make a difference in the lives of cancer patients, their families, and their communities.

ONS Employer Recognition Award

This new award was developed to recognize those employers who show exemplary support for and/or honor registered nurses working in oncology. There are three awards available based on the employers size: Small (less than 25 oncology RNs), Medium (26-100 oncology RNs), and Large (101 or more oncology RNs).

ONS Lectureships

The ONS Oncology Clinical Lectureship was established to recognize and support excellence in the clinical practice. This lecture is presented at the ONS Annual Congress. The Trish Greene Memorial Quality of Life Lectureship was established to focus attention on the quality-of-life issues in cancer care. This lecture is presented at the ONS Annual Institutes of Learning (IOL).

ONS Research Awards

The annual ONS research awards recognize individuals for their contribution to oncology nursing research.

ONS Publishing Awards

The ONS Publishing Awards honor nurses who have put their thoughts and findings into words.  The publishing awards seek to recognize writers at all levels of experience as well as those who have made a difference in patient education literature, quantitative, and qualitative nursing research.  Please note that ONS does not accept nominations or applications for publishing awards.  All full-length articles that have appeared in the appropriate volume of CJON or ONF and meet the selection criteria automatically will be considered for these awards.

Honor Someone Special

Celebrate the accomplishments of an oncology RN who has made a difference in the lives of people with cancer and their families through the ONS Honor Someone Special program. Honor Someone Special is a simple yet meaningful way to say "thank you" to a cancer nurse who, in their own practice, promotes excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care. Nominate a nurse today!

For more information on any of the ONS awards, contact ONS at awards@ons.org. Award nominators will be notified once an application is received.
