Colleen Lemoine

Colleen Lemoine has been a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology for the past 14 years at the Medical Center of Louisiana where she has worked for the past 26 years. She has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and has experience in medical oncology, bone marrow transplant, and hospice. Ms Lemoine obtained both her BSN and MN from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and has lectured extensively on nursing implications of chemotherapy, symptom management, quality of life issues and end of life care.

Among her numerous responsibilities, Ms. Lemoine educates professional staff on oncology-related issues, responds to consults regarding oncology issues in non-oncology areas, assist with coordination of care for complex oncology patients, and develops and updates oncology-related policies. She is a member of the hospital’s Ethics Committee, Cancer Committee, Pain Management Advisory Committee, Health Care Effectiveness Committee, Research Committee, and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Ms Lemoine has been faculty for the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course since 2005.
