Help the ONS Boston Chapter Help the Community
The Boston ONS Chapter (BONS) is collecting funds for the ONS Foundation and the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center.
Hope Lodge Center is a state-of-the-art facility in Boston that serves as a "home away from home" for patients traveling more than 40 miles to their outpatient treatments. For many, treatment at medical centers in Boston offers the greatest hope of beating their cancer. However, traveling far from home and facing the expense of hotels, meals, and transportation can make that option prohibitive for many.
Since opening in November 2008, AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center in Boston has provided more than 28,000 nights of free lodging to 925 cancer patients from 47 states and 11 countries. There is no charge to stay at Hope Lodge for patients or their caregivers.
Please consider donating to this community effort. Donations can be made at the BONS booth at Congress located in the registration area. BONS is also planning a tour of Hope Lodge Center in Boston during Congress. Stop by the booth for details.
You can also donate to the ONS Foundation at its booth located in the registration area. The ONS Foundation is committed to improving cancer care and the lives of people with cancer by funding oncology nursing research, scholarships, awards, and educational programs. Since its inception in 1982, it has awarded more than $20 million in research grants, research scholarships, academic scholarships, lectures, public education projects, career development awards, and conference scholarship.
