ONS Foundation Supports Oncology Nurses
The ONS Foundation's mission is to improve cancer care and the lives of people with cancer by funding oncology nursing research, scholarships, awards and educational programs. Since its inception in 1981, the ONS Foundation has distributed more than $22 million in research grants, research fellowships, academic scholarships, lectures, public education projects, career development awards, and national conference scholarships.
Research Conference Scholarships Now Available
Scholarships for the Research Conference are available through the ONS Foundation. Apply by November 18, and you can have your registration fees paid, plus some travel expenses!
ONS Foundation Fosters Development of New Investigators
The ONS Foundation believes in helping new nurse scientists as they begin their research endeavors. Every other year, the Foundation presents the Victoria Mock New Investigator Award to recognize the contributions of new investigators in building a scientific foundation for oncology nursing practice. The Victoria Mock New Investigator Award is supported by the ONS Distinguished Nurse Researcher Fund through the ONS Foundation. ONS Distinguished Nurse Researchers are recognized leaders in cancer nursing research who have enhanced the science and practice of oncology nursing research created this fund to recognize new scientists. If you see the Distinguished Nurse Researcher, be sure to introduce yourself and thank them for their contributions to cancer care.
ONS, ONS Foundation, and the ONS Distinguished Nurse Researchers are pleased to announce Marie Bakitas, DNSCc, ARNP, AOCN®, FAAN as the 2011 Victoria Mock New Investigator award recipient.
The ONS Foundation will be on-hand in the ONS Resource Area (California Level) to discuss available grants and to accept donations. You can also donate to the ONS Foundation online at any time.
