ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course
May 2, 2006 • 8 am-5 pm
May 3, 2006 • 8 am-5 pm

More than 61,000 nurses have taken the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course, one of the Society's most popular educational offerings. Designed to encourage consistency in chemotherapy administration, the course will be offered in conjunction with this year's Congress. This two-day course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of chemotherapy and biotherapy.

Offering 16.2 contact hours, the course focuses on the theoretical knowledge base needed to administer these treatments, including cellular kinetics, drug classifications, safe handling, administration, side effect management, and patient-education strategies. It also includes case studies relating to the theoretical principles. Attendees will receive a copy of the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Guidelines and Recommendations for Practice (2nd ed.). RNs who successfully complete the course and a post test receive a personalized ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card that demonstrates they've taken the course and have the knowledge necessary to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy. The card is valid for two years and can be renewed by completing an online course that includes updates on new drugs, administration techniques, and other practice issues.

Course tuition includes detailed handout materials as well as breakfast, lunch, coffee, and water on both days of the course.

Space is limited, so registrants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest registering early to secure your seat in the course.

Cost: ONS members-$299; Nonmembers-$395

The ONS Manual for Radiation Oncology Nursing Practice and Education (3rd ed.) will serve as the required text for the course and is included in your registration fee.
