ONS Radiation Therapy Course

Thursday, November 10 • 8 am – 5 pm
At some point, 60% of patients with cancer will receive radiation treatment to manage their disease. This means that as an oncology nurse, you need comprehensive, up-to-date information on caring for these patients. The ONS Radiation Therapy Course is designed to provide just that.

This introductory one-day course—offering 8.4 continuing-education credits—will benefit both inpatient and ambulatory-care nurses who care for patients receiving radiation therapy. Nurses who are new to radiation therapy may also find this introductory review useful. Topics that will be addressed include principles of radiation therapy, new radiation treatment modalities, and side effect management. The ONS Manual for Radiation Oncology Nursing Practice and Education (3rd ed.) will serve as the required text for the course and is included in your registration fee. In addition, you will have the opportunity to dialogue with other nurses during roundtable discussions at lunch.

Course tuition includes detailed handout materials as well as breakfast, lunch, coffee, and water on the day of the course.

See section 2 of the official IOL registration form or register online today. Space is limited, so registrants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest registering early to secure your seat in the course.

Cost: ONS members–$165; Nonmembers–$260
