ONS Radiation Therapy Trainer Course

Thursday, November 10 • 8 am – 5 pm
This trainer course will prepare you to teach the ONS Radiation Therapy Course, a one-day program designed for inpatient or ambulatory-care oncology nurses who care for patients receiving radiation therapy. This comprehensive trainer course will address content that will be covered in the ONS RT Course as well as logistics of presenting the course.

To be eligible to become an RT Course trainer, registered nurses must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or a health-related field, maintain a current ONS membership, have a minimum of three years’ radiation oncology nursing experience working in a radiation oncology department, and have experience presenting professional nursing-education content. In addition, all 2005 trainer course applicants must be ONCC certified by January 2007. Applicants for all 2006 trainer courses must be certified at the time of their application.

Nurses who attend the course in its entirety will earn 4.5 contact hours following submission of an evaluation form.

For additional course details, including a schedule, faculty information, and objectives, visit the Radiation Therapy Trainer Course website.
