LDI will teach you how to take an active role as a leader in your job and in your field. You’ll enhance your leadership skills so that you can help ensure that oncology nurses remain a driving force in cancer care.

What Is the Leadership Development Institute?
At LDI, which will be held October 23-26 at Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree (formerly Aberdeen Woods Conference Center) outside of Atlanta, you’ll discover how you can successfully overcome challenges and obstacles in both your professional and personal lives. You’ll learn to:

  • Understand the impact of change on oneself and the work team.
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills, incorporating the use of technological resources, public speaking tips, marketing concepts, and media training.
  • Use the “Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership” as a guide for the leadership process.
  • Develop a project plan and effective implementation steps.
  • Examine and clarify leadership styles, as well as personal strengths and values.
  • Initiate the development of a personal vision statement.
  • Network with other nurses from across the country and around the world.

Invest in Yourself, Become an LDI Fellow
What are you waiting for? As an LDI fellow, you’ll learn to train, coach, mentor, and serve as a role model for others. Presented by national leadership experts, veteran LDI fellows, and other nurses skilled in leadership and professional development, LDI’s curriculum will prepare you to serve as a leader in both your personal and professional life, regardless of your practice setting or background. It will provide you with the knowledge, behaviors, values, and skills necessary to be an effective leader in the 21st century.

Gain Practical Leadership Skills
Learn how to develop project action plans, enhance your presentation skills, and take home other valuable leadership tools. LDI emphasizes the importance of networking and building professional relations with your peers, the public, politicians, and other influential decision-makers. You’ll also learn how to more effectively manage projects, as well as how to lead others. Through the program, you’ll explore coaching, counseling, mentoring, and mobilizing others.
