Patient Navigation Supplement Cosponsored by ONS is Published

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) co-sponsored a National Patient Navigator Leadership Summit in Atlanta, Georgia which resulted in a collection of articles developed to educate and build nationwide awareness around the need for common outcome measures related to patient navigation programs. These articles are now included in a supplement titled: National Patient Navigator Leadership Summit: Measuring the Impact and Potential of Patient Navigation.

The supplement was published in the August 1, 2011 issue of Cancer, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society and can be accessed on Cancer Online at http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncr.v117.15s/issuetoc.

The summit and supplement were cosponsored by the American Cancer Society, Pfizer Oncology, LIVESTRONG™ (Lance Armstrong Foundation), Susan G. Komen for the Cure, ONS, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and AstraZeneca.
