PITTSBURGH, PA – July 29, 2010 – The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) National Cancer Policy Forum. The Forum explores emerging policy issues in the nation’s effort to combat cancer and enables all members to be full participants in identifying and debating critical issues and examining potential actions.
ONS past-president Brenda Nevidjon, RN, MSN, FAAN, is the ONS representative to the Forum and attended a recent meeting and a workshop on nanotechnology in oncology research. “ONS is proud to join the other sponsors of the Forum in this important work, and Brenda is the perfect person to represent ONS in this important initiative,” said Carl Brown, RN, PhD, AOCN®, president of ONS. “Sharing ideas and requests in the deliberations with the other sponsors is an important step to further examine the critical needs in cancer treatment and care.”
