Cindy Tofthagen, PhD, ARNP, AOCNP, Receives ONS Foundation Research Fellowship

PITTSBURGH, PA – September 30, 2010 – Cindy Tofthagen, PhD, ARNP, AOCNP®, assistant professor at the University of South Florida in Tampa, has received an ONS Foundation Research Fellowship. The purpose of the fellowship program is to support short-term oncology research training. The program enables individuals with advanced research preparation to work with a senior investigator who has an existing research program relevant to oncology nursing. The title of her paper is “Developing a Program of Research for Treatment of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy.” Genentech BioOncology supports this award.
Tofthagen received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, FL and her master of science degree and her doctorate from the University of South Florida.
She is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), an associate editor of the ONS website, a member of the Cancer Education Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing,
