Application Process

You may also e-mail ONS, ONS Foundation, or ONCC for information on a specific award, scholarship, or grant.

Please note that applications for the ONS and ONCC awards are available after May of each year. Applications for ONS Foundation grants are available in March, and applications for ONS Foundation scholarships, cancer public-education projects, career development awards, and Congress scholarships are available after June of each year. When you call or write for an application, refer to the number in parentheses following the name of each award. This will ensure that you receive the correct application.

Also note that the Susan Baird Oncology Excellence in Writing Awards and the Quality of Life (QOL) Award are not judged by nominations but are based on abstracts or articles that have appeared in either the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing or the Oncology Nursing Forum. The Marcia C. Liebman New Writer Award is not judged by nominations either but is based on articles that have appeared in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing. The Excellence in Cancer Nursing Research Award is based on ONS Congress research abstracts that received the 10 highest scores from the ONS Congress Research Abstract Review Team. In addition, nominations are not accepted for the Ellyn Bushkin Friend of the Foundation Award.

Recipients of ONS and ONS Foundation awards are notified by early April.
