Connie Henke Yarbro Excellence in
Cancer Nursing Mentorship Award Winner

All awards, grants, and scholarships are tentative and subject to change based on funding availability.

Connie Henke Yarbro Excellence in Cancer Nursing Mentorship Award* (FO13)

Award: A $2,500 award and a plaque.

Purpose: To recognize and support excellence in the mentorship of oncology nurses. The award is named for the first ONS Foundation President, Connie Henke Yarbro.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this award, the nominee must

  1. be a registered nurse with at least two years’ experience in oncology nursing; or an ONS Chapter or SIG established for at least two (2) years.
  2. demonstrate excellence in the mentorship of others in the practice of oncology nursing in the academic, clinical or research setting.

The primary selection focus is the nominee’s contribution to mentoring oncology nurses.

NOTE:  An individual cannot receive this award more than one time.

*Connie Henke Yarbro is an oncology nursing pioneer and a founding ONS and ONS Foundation Board member.
