ONS Excellence Awards

2008 Excellence in Cancer Nursing Research Award Recipient

All awards, grants, and scholarships are tentative and subject to change based on funding availability.
Award: Monetary award of $1000 and a plaque.
Purpose: To recognize and support excellence in cancer nursing research likely to make a significant contribution to the body of nursing knowledge.
Selection Criteria:
- The candidate may be an individual or group. The individual must have assumed the major responsibility for the study. In group research projects, two or more researchers may be recognized for one paper if they all agree that they have equally assumed the major responsibility for the study.
- The candidate(s) must be an RN who is an ONS member.
- The candidate must have at least two years of oncology nursing experience.
- The abstract must have received unanimous acceptance of the study to present at the ONS Annual Congress.
- The paper cannot be in print by the Congress presentation, but it may be in the review process and accepted for publication.
- Manuscripts are reviewed for scientific merit and relevance to oncology nursing.
Application Process: The ONS Research Team will send an invitation letter to ONS members whose ONS Congress research abstracts received the 10 highest scores from the ONS Congress Research Abstract Review Team.
