Head and Neck Cancers
Head and Neck Cancer represents a variety of cancers that may occur in the head and neck region, including the mouth, throat, sinuses, larynx, thyroid, and salivary glands. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 30,000 Americans will be diagnosed with head and neck cancer this year.
Kidney Cancer
Kidney cancer is the sixth leading cause of cancer death. Approximately 13,000 people die annually from kidney cancer. It is predicted that 51,000 new cases of kidney cancer will be diagnosed in 2007. It is two to three times more common in men than in women. About 25 to 39 percent of patients will be diagnosed with metastatic disease.
Lung Cancer
Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in both women and men in the United States, Canada, and China. In several other countries, lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer deaths in men and the second or third cause among women. The majority of lung cancers are related to tobacco use and can be prevented.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of death from cancer in men of all ages and is the most common cause of death from cancer in men over 75 years old. Prostate cancer is rarely found in men younger than 40 years of age. There has been a great deal of research about prostate cancer in the past 10 years.
