AJN State of the Science on Cancer Survivorship: Click here for the report from the invitational symposium, The State of the Science on Nursing Approaches to Managing Late and Long-Term Sequelae of Cancer and Cancer Treatment. The goals of the symposium were to develop research priorities and recommendations for clinical care, education, and policy related to nursing care for survivors of cancer who complete initial treatment during adulthood and continue to live with the potential or actual sequelae of their cancer, its treatment, or both. This executive summary reports the results of consensus building during and after the symposium.

Armstrong Foundation (LAF) developed A National Action Plan for Cancer
Survivorship: Advancing Public Health Strategies to address the issues
faced by the growing number of cancer survivors living with, through,
and beyond cancer. The National Action Plan identifies and prioritizes
cancer survivorship needs and proposes strategies for addressing those
needs
Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academies Report Cancer Care for the Whole Patient: Meeting Psychosocial Health Needs
In this IOM report, the most common psychosocial problems are reviewed and ten action items to ensure standards are outlined.

cancer advocacy organization in the country and a highly respected authentic
voice at the federal level, advocating for quality cancer care for all

Office of Cancer Survivorship
The Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) was established in 1996 by the
National Cancer Institute in recognition of the large number of individuals
now surviving cancer for long periods of time. The OCS is dedicated to
enhancing the length and quality of life of the estimated 9.8 million
cancer survivors in the United States1 and addressing their unique and
poorly understood needs.
