Oncology Nursing Society Advisory Panel/Project Team Application

ADVISORY PANELS

ONS is accepting applications from ONS members who would like to serve on the Society's advisory panels in the areas of cancer care issues, professional issues, membership/leadership, publishing, and research. Advisory panel members will provide consultation to staff directors and assess priority oncology nursing issues and ways to address them. The position does not require travel.

As an advisory panel member you will:

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for staff directors by offering insight on content areas and project planning.
  • Identify issues and possible solutions related to achieving the work of the Society.
  • Identify individuals who will act as expert resources to implement projects.
  • Help to enlist volunteer participation for project teams.

Term: The length of term is one year with possibility of reappointment.

Qualified applicants will have: competence in building coalitions and in using group dynamics and consensus in decision making; knowledge of legislation and healthcare, cancer, professional, or research issues; and the ability to solve problems.

PROJECT TEAMS

ONS is accepting applications from members interested in serving on project teams that will implement organizational projects identified by the directors or Steering Council. Project teams will fall under the following areas: cancer care issues, professional issues, membership/leadership, and research.

As a project team member you will:
  • Help to plan the work required to achieve the identified project.
  • Implement the work required to complete the assigned project within the determined time lines.
  • Evaluate the project to determine achievement of goals.

Qualified applicants will have: expertise related to the project topic, the ability to meet deadlines, competence in written and verbal communication, ethical integrity, and an understanding of group process and teams.

Submission of this application does not guarantee selection. If you are selected to serve, you will be notified. Applications are kept on file for a two year period.
