Elizabeth Lee Krayk, RN, BSN, OCN®, Receives 2012 ONS Pearl Moore "Making a Difference" Frontline Care Award

Elizabeth Lee Krayk, RN, BSN, OCN®, is the recipient of the 2012 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Pearl Moore “Making a Difference” Frontline Care Award. She is an RN, clinical nurse III at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV. This award recognizes her as a frontline oncology nurse who demonstrates exceptional patient care through the use of evidence-based practice. Krayk was recognized for this award during the recent ONS 37th Annual Congress held in New Orleans, LA.
Krayk is the founder and leader of Renown Regional Medical Center’s Vascular Access Team, whose purpose is to promote and teach competence in care of venous access devices. Her achievements as a direct care nurse, preceptor, and leader in evidence-based practice are reflective of her positive attitude and her drive to do what is best for every patient.
“I am thankful to be surrounded by engaged coworkers and a supportive and outstanding manager,” said Krayk. “I appreciate a leadership team that nurtures education, and I believe it will lead to excellence and outstanding patient care. I am so thankful for the recognition that I have received and I strive to continue excellent patient care and nursing education at my facility. I will eventually return to receive my higher-level education in nursing and continue to educate others in this wonderful profession.”
Krayk received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Nevada in Reno. She is an active member of ONS, the Sierra Nevada Chapter of ONS and the ONS Staff Education, Pain Management, Neutropenia, and Acute and Critical Care Special Interest Groups.
