Beth Faiman, MSN, APRN-BC, AOCN®, Receives 2012 ONS Excellence in Medical Oncology Award

Beth Faiman, MSN, APRN-BC, AOCN®, is the recipient of the 2012 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Excellence in Medical Oncology Award. Faiman is a nurse practitioner at Cleveland Clinic and a PhD candidate at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. This award recognizes her as an outstanding oncology nurse focusing on medical oncology, not just in educating patients, but in sharing her expertise with other professionals as well. She was recognized for this award at ONS’s recent 37th Annual Congress in New Orleans, LA.

“On a daily basis I am amazed and inspired by nurses, patients, caregivers, physicians, and members of the healthcare team,” said Faiman. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by these dedicated individuals as an expert in the field of medical oncology and for the contributions I have made to the development of oncology nursing practice. It is also my pleasure to represent each and every nurse who is as deserving of this award. This prestigious 2012 ONS Excellence in Medical Oncology Award will allow me to achieve one of many goals which include becoming a nurse researcher with a focus on cancer symptom management.”

Faiman received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH, and her master of science in nursing degree from Kent State University in Kent, OH. She is an active member of ONS, the Cleveland Chapter of ONS, and the ONS Nurse Practitioner Special Interest Group.
