ONS Partners With Advocacy Groups for Ice Skating Spectacular

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) has joined leading cancer advocacy groups and professional associations to support an education and awareness platform around cancer survivorship through a holiday television special called Kaleidoscope on Ice. Kaleidoscope pays tribute to the millions of Americans who are surviving this disease, while serving as a vehicle to educate the audience about cancer and the unique challenges that face survivors.
“We are proud to be partners again with Kaleidoscope on Ice,” said ONS President Carlton Brown, RN, PhD, AOCN®. “With so many more people surviving cancer, it is important to celebrate the victories and also focus on long-term survivor care.”
Kaleidoscope on Ice, produced by Edge Entertainment, airs on Sunday, December 19, from 4:30–6 pm EST on FOX following the NFL game. The 90-minute special will feature the return of cancer survivors and American skating icons Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill as hosts and will celebrate the thousands of cancer survivors in attendance with a musical performance of “I Will Survive,” by Gloria Gaynor. It will also feature music from American Idol runner-up David Archuleta and a number of skating performances by legendary skaters such as Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen, four-time world champion Kurt Browning, Olympic bronze medalist Joannie Rochette, Olympic silver medalist Paul Wylie, two-time U.S. champion Kimmie Meissner, two-time U.S. champions Rena Inoue and John Baldwin, and five-time European champion Surya Bonaly.
