Nutritional Issues in Cancer Care

Buy Book

Preface

The concept of the healthcare team reaches its fundamental significance in the management of patients with cancer. The nutritional care of patients with cancer can be very complex and must be individualized. It is the collaboration between oncology nurses and dietitians that will provide the best nutritional care to each patient. This book has been very exciting for us to organize and prepare and will provide the reader with general information on most of the common cancers as well as their nutritional consequences. The book is unique in that oncology nurses as well as dietitians combined their expertise to provide first-hand suggestions for the many problems, frustrations, and difficulties they have had in managing the nutritional needs of patients with cancer during and after treatments. It is our hope that healthcare providers, those both new to the field of oncology as well as seasoned professionals, will open this book and learn how to effectively manage the nutritional needs of their patients. We are grateful to all of our patients and their families who have been our best teachers.
