Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing

We're looking for genuine experts

Put your knowledge and expertise to work by becoming a Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing reviewer.

Do you enjoy reading about recent advances in oncology nursing? Do you like to evaluate new symptom management approaches? Do you want to help select the articles published in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing (CJON)? If so, consider applying your knowledge by becoming a CJON reviewer.

The CJON review board is composed of oncology nurses who enjoy reading and evaluating the work of their colleagues. Reviewers are sent manuscripts in their areas of expertise but may decline a request for a manuscript review because of scheduling constraints. Reviewers critique approximately four to six manuscripts per year and offer guidance to authors as they work toward publication in CJON.

Reviewers are valued volunteers who contribute their professional knowledge and clinical expertise to CJON. Reviewers are credited on the masthead page of each issue. Reviewers who are certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation receive ONC-PRO credit for every manuscript reviewed. Reviewers must have expertise in specific areas of oncology nursing, such as research utilization, chemotherapy, biotherapy, radiation therapy, home care, and case management, among others. Computer access is also required, because all article reviews are done online using our electronic peer review program (CJON Manuscript Central). Manuscript experience preferred, oncology nursing certification and reviewing experience are helpful but not required.

We will provide you with an orientation package that explains the process of doing a review. The editor and associate editors also provide feedback to the reviewers after a review is completed. This feedback helps develop writing and reviewing skills.
