ONS believes that every nurse is a leader and can be empowered to drive change in the health of our communities through board membership and leadership by learning the essentials of governance.

You have the firsthand clinical experience to understand the implications of healthcare strategy and the knowledge to envision the future of the oncology nursing profession. As you tirelessly strive to improve patient outcomes, enhance quality of life for patients and their families, and advocate for more effective nursing policies, you are already on your way to a leadership role.

Serving on a board of directors is an effective way to engage and implement the change that you’d like to see in your practice. Use your experience to shape the future for oncology nurses and patient care either through ONS or at any number of healthcare institutions. Oncology nurse leaders play a vital role in cancer care as we move forward. Gain the skills you need to serve with confidence.
