Description

This series of videos walks you through treatment options for advanced or metastatic breast cancer, including combined modality regimens. Early intervention approaches for common adverse reactions from CDK4/6 inhibitors. This will include assessment tools, symptom management, and recommendations for dose modification. Along with strategies and resources that will build upon existing skills to discern and offer optimal patient-centered treatment options.

Expected Outcomes

  • Learners will indicate increased knowledge of novel therapies and treatment strategies for patients with metastatic breast cancer.
  • Learners will indicate increased knowledge of symptom management and dose adjustments for side effects related to CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy.

Target Audience

The target audience is nurses of all levels and all roles working with breast cancer patients.

Part 1: Innovations in Metastatic Breast Cancer Care: Overview of Therapy Options

  • The learner will identify novel targeted therapies, treatment strategies, as well as the attributes and the benefits of CDK4/6 inhibitors. 

Part 2: Innovations in Metastatic Breast Cancer Care: CDK4/6 Inhibitor Toxicity Monitoring and Management

  • The learner will identify targeted therapy  toxicities, and dose adjustments of CDK4/6 inhibitors.

Part 3: Innovations in Metastatic Breast Cancer Care: Palliative Care, An Extra Layer of Support

  • The learner will identify the definition of, and various strategies for, palliative care.
