Description

The ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Renewal Course will guide you through five case study guided-learning activities to ensure that your radiation knowledge stays current to provide care and symptom management support to patients receiving radiation oncology therapies.

Eligibility: The certificate of added qualification that you earn with the ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Course is valid for three years. You’ll take this course when your certificate is up for renewal.

Expected Outcomes

This course is appropriate for oncology nurses who currently hold an ONS/ONCC certificate of added qualification in radiation therapy, and who wish to maintain these qualifications.

ILNA Breakdown

Candidates may claim 5.28 CNE or ILNA points in any area of their choosing on the following blueprint areas: Psychosocial, Survivorship, Symptom Management, Treatment.

Candidates will not be able to place the 5.28 ILNA points under both categories as the number of points claimed cannot exceed the total CNE points for the offering.

  • Apply evidence based symptom management strategies that are appropriate to the acute and chronic side effects presented in patient scenarios.
  • Identify key risk factors for emotional and psychological effects of treatment, and strategies for effective interventions.
