PEP Topic
Prevention of Infection: General

Antifungal prophylaxis refers to the provision of antifungal agents prior to signs of infection in order to prevent development of fungal infections. Primary and secondary prophylaxis with antifungal agents has been studied using a variety of antifungal agents. Some research examines potential differences with use of mold-active agents. There is limited evidence regarding antifungal prophylaxis for pediatric patients.
