Description

Antifungal prophylaxis refers to the administration of antifungal agents prior to signs of infection in order to prevent the development of fungal infections.  Primary and secondary prophylaxis with antifungal agents has been studied using a variety of antifungal agents. Some research examined potential differences with the use of mold active agents.  There is limited evidence regarding antifungal prophylaxis for pediatric patients.
