To honor individuals who are not otherwise eligible for membership, who have made significant contributions to the oncology nursing profession, have a history of engaging in actions supportive of ONS, and exhibited conduct consistent with the mission and core values of the Society.
The Distinguished Awards recognize individuals for their career achievements and for their outstanding contributions to cancer care. Each opportunity includes a $2,000 award, a plaque, and travel reimbursement to attend the ONS Annual Congress.
These awards are granted to ONS members who have been nominated by another member. The nomination cycle for the 2018 Distinguished Awards will open in the spring of 2017, with nominations due on September 30, 2017.
Recognizes an ONS member who has made consistent and significant contributions to oncology nursing literature
Recognizes an ONS member who has made outstanding contributions to the field of oncology nursing and to ONS; who has been an important leader within the Society and in his or her community; and who exemplifies the mission and core values of ONS (integrity, innovation, stewardship, advocacy, excellence, and inclusiveness).
Recognizes the contributions of an ONS member who has conducted or promoted research that has enhanced the science and practice of oncology nursing. The recipient will present his or her research results at the ONS Annual Congress.
