ONS members are often asked to testify before government agencies. Decisionmakers seek insight and experience from healthcare professionals like oncology nurses, and those with expertise within a specialty may be asked to represent ONS.
Volunteers will be asked to receive Capitol Connection, ONS's monthly advocacy and policy e-newsletter, as well as other action alerts. Time commitment varies by the member's interest in advancing issues for ONS at the local, state, and federal level.
No formal travel is required, although opportunities to testify in Washington, D.C. may arise.
Select this opportunity on the ONS volunteer application. Remember, you'll need an ONS profile to log in. If you don't have one yet, you can create one on the volunteer application homepage.
