Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) member Suzanne Mahon, RN, DNSc, AOCN®, APNG, a clinical professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and the School of Nursing at St. Louis University in Missouri, received the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG) Founders' Education Award. The purpose of the award is to honor an ISONG member who demonstrates excellence in nursing or patient education in genomics. Criteria include outstanding accomplishments related to the education of nurses, patients, or other health professionals; creation and dissemination of media or curricula; teaching genomics; and the dissemination of genomics education innovations and research through publication in peer-reviewed nursing and healthcare literature or presentation to professional and lay audiences.
