Every year, new officers are selected to serve a three-year term on the ONS Board of Directors. Interested candidates are welcome to reach out to the current members of the ONS Board of Directors to better understand these commitments on a more individualistic level.
The onboarding process is critical to ensure oncology nurses feel ready to deliver quality cancer care to people with cancer. ONS has developed orientation-based didactic courses, clinical practice resources, and other training tools to use to ensure optimal orientation for nurses new to the clinical and advanced practice roles. Whether you are working to improve your institution’s onboarding process or looking for individual resources to complement your own orientation, ONS has an option for you within the Orientation Learning Library.
ONS engages oncology nurses throughout the country, connecting them virtually to elected officials, policy leaders, and decision makers via video conferencing, telephone interviews, and podcasts.
Our three current goals are to preserve and promote oncology nurses’ practice to the full scope of their ability, improve the quality of cancer care, and advocate for payment models that incorporate the work of oncology nurses and positively impact oncology practice.
