Description

Orientation Course

The ONS Oncology Nurse Orientation Program™, provides didactic content for nurses new to oncology. The course is evidence-based, incorporates ONS standards and guidelines, and supports new oncology nurses working toward certification based on the ONS Oncology Nurse Generalist Competencies.

You will have access to the course and content for 180 days from date of purchase, after which you will no longer be able to access the course. This is a self-paced course that students may access 24 hours a day, seven days a week during that time.

Preceptor Bundle with Orientation Course

In addition to enrolling the new staff member into the didactic content, ONS provides a bundle for preceptors that includes case scenarios and competency assessment checklists to support application of knowledge gained through their clinical experience, additional instruction from the preceptor, and through the course content. This purchase of the orientation course includes these scenarios. Use of the scenarios is at your discretion, in alignment with the orientation plan outlined by your facility. You may also purchase the ONS Oncology Nurse Orientation Program™ without these scenarios.

NCPD

Students will receive 29.75 contact hours of NCPD upon the successful completion of the ONS Oncology Nurse Orientation Program™. No partial credit will be given. If you are unsuccessful in meeting the requirements to earn NCPD contact hours within the stated time or completion of the evaluation during your access to the course, ONS will not grant additional evaluation opportunities, extensions, transfers, cancellations, or refunds. If you are unsuccessful in earning NCPD and wish to pursue additional attempts, you will need to purchase and register for access to a new course section.
