I was an ONS member for many years before I began working for the national office in 2004. As a nurse, I had used the resources developed by ONS to educate myself and my colleagues, to write policies and procedures, and to help provide the best care I could to people with cancer. It has been an honor to work with such a dedicated group of professionals at ONS. We work together to develop quality resources and advocate for oncology nurses around the globe.
As someone who recently switched careers into a technical role, ONS has been incredibly supportive of my personal and professional growth. I'm able to come into work and be on a great team where I know everyone genuinely cares about me as a person, not just a coworker. Additionally, my mom is a nurse, so I know first-hand how underappreciated the profession is. It's been wonderfully fulfilling to have the opportunity to give back by creating things that directly help our members.
I am very honored to have worked for ONCC in oncology certification for 18 years. ONCC is a wonderful organization that helps serve oncology nurses. And I enjoy being able to help oncology nurses achieve their certification. ONCC gives me the opportunity to work in a pleasant environment with a great team who are always supportive.
