Low Level Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) involves the use of a hand-held infrared laser in an attempt to affect cells and physical symptoms often related to inflammation. The therapy has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treatment of post-mastectomy lymphedema. LLLT has also been evaluated for prevention and treatment of mucositis.
Low Level Laser Therapy in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) involves the use of a handheld infrared laser in an attempt to affect cells and physical symptoms often related to inflammation. This therapy has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treatment of post-mastectomy lymphedema. LLLT has also been evaluated for the prevention and treatment of mucositis in patients receiving stem cell transplantation conditioning or radiation therapy to the oral cavity area.
MASO65D (Xclair®)
MAS065D is a nonsteroidal water-in-oil cream that has barrier-forming, hydrating, and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains hyaluronic acid, shea butter (emollient), glycyrrhetinic acid (licorice extract with anti-inflammatory properties), Vitis vinifera (antioxidant activity), and telmesteine (anti-elastase and anticollagen activity in vitro). It is designed to reduce anti-inflammatory reactions and maintain a moist skin environment.

Mucosite mouthwash is a solution composed of verbascoside (a chemical present in many plants used for flavoring and medicines that has antioxidant properties) and sodium hyaluronate (a chemical found in the body that holds moisture and has been shown to facilitate wound healing).
