As an oncology nurse, you are a source of strength for your patients and their loved ones. Your expertise and compassion provide hope and comfort for those facing the unimaginable.
That's why we celebrate you, the oncology nurse, this May and every month after.
[Oncology nursing] has made me grateful, humble, appreciative of even the littlest things. It has taught me that unconditional love, strength, faith, and hope are forces that keep us going. That we are one big family requiring the resources and skills of each other, and that we are strong, resilient and determined as human beings.
All ONS members will receive a poster with their March 2022 edition of the ONS Voice. Hang it with pride in your workplace where everyone can see it.
Become an active member of the ONS community by volunteering to improve oncology nursing and patient care. ONS has a number of ways for you to get involved. Some take only a few minutes, and others require a larger commitment—find your best fit.
Do you know a nurse who has made a real difference in oncology nursing in your local area? Consider nominating him or her for one of many ONS awards, which honor ONS members who display a special commitment to their field. Most awards include a plaque, a cash award, and reimbursement to attend the annual ONS Congress™.
You can also honor a nurse by donating to the Oncology Nursing Foundation in his or her name.
