The ONS 5th Annual Capitol Hill Days event was held virtually December 17, 2020. Almost 200 nurses from across the United States joined the online video call to hear presentations from society leaders, special congressional guests, and Ambassador Deborah Birx, Coronavirus Response Coordinator.
ONS continues to be a strong advocate for the 110,000 oncology nurses in the country and the important issues that are legislative and regulatory priorities. Advocating for palliative care, oral parity for cancer drugs, telehealth, vaping, clinical trials, and a host of policies has kept the Board, chapters, and individual members engaged with elected officials on the role of the nurse in healthcare, especially during a global pandemic.
ONS is looking to hold meetings with our chapters and their congressional offices in their home states. If you are interested in participating, please contact Alec Stone.
